New Kids On the Block (Well on the Mountain Actually)

New Kids On the Block (Well on the Mountain Actually)

01 October 2008

Our famous Goat Mountain goats have retired! big surprise But don’t worry! The new residents have already moved in! cheese The young goat kids are currently getting used to their exiting new home and enjoying lots of exercise up and down the mountain! They are pygmy goats so enjoy lots of food, and you can send it up to them at the summit!
Our old Goat Mountain Goats are enjoying retirement out in the paddocks. So you can still see them, say hello and feed them.

Goat Mountain is near the main yard – right opposite the gift shop. But you can see it from anywhere on the Farm! What a great view those goats must have!

See you all soon,

White Post Farms Hero arrives

White Post Farms Hero arrives

18 September 2008

On the 14th September there was a new addition to the farm. He is a long horn bull who goes by the name of Hero and is 18 months old. He still has plenty of growing left to do as he only weighs between 600 and 700 kilograms but could reach an almighty 2500kg! This is roughly the same weight as 28 dorset sheep. Hero can be found in one of the cow fields at the top of the field walk along with his 8 new girlfriends. wink

Mitchell, Mackenzie and Farmer Dave!!

Mitchell, Mackenzie and Farmer Dave!!

02 September 2008

On 24th August our Farm Helpers for the day were Mitchell age 7 and Mackenzie age 4. They were a big help and got really stuck in to loads of exciting actives! Bathing tortoises, baby goat bottle feeding, walking the dogs and one of our favourites – mucking out! LOL Mum Jill was really pleased that they had such a nice time and even sent us cool pictures of the day. I especially liked this one which shows Farmer Dave and the boys getting really ‘hands on’ in the walk-in aviary.

Farmer Dave, who was the boys mentor for the day, said they were both lots of fun and would make good future farmers!

Farmer days are very popular and lots of fun and you can come and join us too!

The days make exciting gifts for Christmas or a Birthday and are a great chance to see the Farm from our side!

Call us for more details!

Our Beautiful Piglets love their Auntie Emily!

02 September 2008

Our little piglets are growing up and getting braver and more inquisitive every day! As you can see from the video they really look forward to seeing Farmer Emily in the morning and always rush over to see her! If you look carefully at the start of the clip you can even see my favourite piglet; Sally Spotbottom!

I was a bit upset because the piggies weren’t giving me as much attention. But then a little one trotted over to me and said hello! I think he liked my trainers cool smile

The piggies are all out and about everyday and they’re really playful! Come and see them for yourself!

A Cheeky Arrival in the Reptile House!

A Cheeky Arrival in the Reptile House!

19 August 2008

We had an extra special arrival today on the Farm! One of our Blue Tongue Skinks gave birth to a cheeky little baby! I was so excited I went to get a picture of mum with her new baby. Just as I took the photo he put his little blue tongue out! HA! I thought it made a really cool photo so I thought I should show you all!

Our Blue Tongue Skinks are from Indonesia. Unlike other lizards they give birth to their young, rather than lay eggs.

Our cheeky new skink is such a character we would like you to send some suggestions for names. Email them to Anthony and we will pick our favourite and let you know on this blog!

Can’t wait to hear them!

The Adventures of Sally Spotbottom!

13 August 2008

Hi everyone. Our lovely little piglets are now old enough to play outside their pigloos! Yesterday we even found one cheeky piglet exploring her new wallow! Pigs use the wallow to keep cool and stop sunburn, but this brave little porker couldn’t wait until she was older. While Mum was having some dinner the little piglet and a few of her friends snuck all the way to the wallow. Farmer Emily and I caught them in the act and decided to film them! The brave little piglet (who Emily named Sally Spotbottom because of the spot on her bottom!) was right in the water – but her friends didn’t dare to join her! Sally came out with muddy little trotters! When she realised that she was quite a long way from home Sally Spotbottom and her friends quickly ran back to the pigloo, before mum realised they had gone!

The piglets are having lots of fun and we are keeping an eye on them as well. You can see them all for yourself too. In the pig paddock by the deer. They’re really cute!

Summer Piglets enjoy the Great Outdoors!

Summer Piglets enjoy the Great Outdoors!

07 August 2008

Over the last 10 days there have been piglets popping out all over the place!

The proud Mummies, Gloria, Gwyneth, Gertie, Edwina & Tilly are all living together outside in a lovely paddock with a nice big wallow for a bath!

The piglets are still tiny but in a few days time, they will venture out of there pens (like in the picture) and begin to explore and make lots of new friends. Its great to see them playing and having fun, while Mum keeps a close eye on them! Come and see them for yourself! They are in the field opposite the Deer, not far from the Wallabies! Bouncing Baby Goats!

09 July 2008

The Summer Holidays are almost here! That means no School for ages and time to get outdoors and have lots of fun! At the Farm we look forward to the holidays to because we get to meet lots of cool kids who come to visit! But they’re not the only cool kids on the farm as you can see from my video. At the moment, in the Silver Barn, goat kids and lambs are being born everyday! I love watching the goat kids jumping and playing! They are all born together in a big Maternity Ward which means they get to play together and get to know there new friends and family. Best of all it means you get to see them up-close for yourself!

So come and check them out!

See you in the hols!

We had a Hoot!

We had a Hoot!

04 July 2008

Our Birthday year is going really well and we had lots of fun at our Birthday Party in June! Everyone who came entered into the Birthday spirit and not even the rain could dampen the party mood! With so much to do and see the weekend was fun for all.

As you can see from the picture we even had some extra special animals visiting us too. Check out some more pictures from the weekend on our Flickr site.
Now with the Party behind us we still have lots and lots to look forward too. There is no time to rest as our summer babies are already being born, chicks and ducklings hatching everyday, and lots of school groups and brownies visiting the farm. Come down and join us for the whole day – there is so much to do!
